Hot Potato: 'Experts' Analyze Parental Alienation

A political hot potato rests in the hands of the American Psychiatric Association as it updates its catalog of mental disorders. They must decide whether to include parental alienation on that list, a disputed term conveying how a child’s relationship with one estranged parent can be poisoned by the other.

This is most often is triggered by a divorce and child-custody dispute. There’s bitter debate over whether this plague of society should be formally classified as a mental health syndrome. That question now is before the psychiatric association as it prepares the first complete revision of its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders since 1994.

“We’re gotten an enormous amount of mail — more than any other issue,” said Dr. Darrel Regier, vice chair of the task force drafting the manual. “The passions on both sides of this are exceptional.”

On one side of the debate, which has raged since the 1980s, are feminists, advocates for battered women and others who consider “parental alienation syndrome” to be an unproven and potentially dangerous concept useful to men trying to deflect attention from their abusive behavior.

On the other side are legions of firm believers in the existence of a syndrome that is likely grounded in bipolar and sociopathic behavior. Recognition of parental alienation in the psychiatrists’ manual would lead to fairer outcomes in family courts while enabling more children of divorce to receive appropriate treatment so they could reconcile with an estranged parent in their poisoned relationship.

This family blight not only cripples families, but relationships across the board in an ongoing manner. It is a plague of this modern society and needs to be regarded as a mental disorder.

Divorce: End of the American Dream

divorce battleAnti-father and feminist sources indicate that in a nationally representative sample of 11-to-16-year-old children living with their mothers, almost half had not seen fathers in the last 12 months. Protagonists of the nation’s fathers indicate that the nation (United States) has seen an increased refusal of fathers to provide for their children, leading to high levels of poverty among single-mother families.

When a couple breaks up, the standard of living of both mother and father declines. Why? Incomes that once supported a single home are now supporting two. The drop in living standards has been mistakenly blamed on fathers when it has nothing to do with them.

Based on U.S. Census data, non-custodial mothers are 20% more likely to default on their child support obligations than non-custodial fathers. This is despite the fact that non-custodial mothers are less likely to be required to pay child support. Non-custodial mothers with support obligations are asked to pay a smaller percentage of their income in child support than noncustodial fathers.

The vast majority of divorces are initiated by women. Research shows that most divorces do not involve a serious transgression by fathers. Data backs up the fact that the majority of fathers are not guilty of violence or adultery, but divorce is a result of  the mother feeling unappreciated or emotionally unfulfilled for other reasons unrelated to the marriage directly.

From a man’s perspective, his wife ended the marriage against his will, removing his children from his daily life. He sees the children as harmed through the destruction of what was a stable, two-parent home and a shared  prosperity that all had enjoyed together. From the male viewpoint, the decision of the wife mandates that he dramatically lower his standard of living in order to finance the decision to end the marriage.

While there are women that are mistreated in marriage and for whom divorce is a liberation, most divorced women aren’t victims. As a result, the facts reveal why men that once worked hard to support and prosper their families become disheartened and refuse to make the same or more sacrifices under new conditions foisted on them.

Politics pretends that simply not seeing one’s children is the same as paternal abandonment or irresponsibility. The politics of the broken family created by government is contradicted by a wealth of research combined with millions of personal experiences of divorced and separated fathers. There are fathers that voluntarily withdraw from the lives of their children for good reasons. There is more evidence that many fathers are driven out of the lives of their children by maternal sociopathic behavior sanctioned by the system. Linking  reality to male irresponsibility is ridiculous, if not patently absurd.

Fresh data from the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement shows that the overwhelming majority of so-called “deadbeat dads” earn poverty level wages. Most dads that are able to pay their child support do so despite often being unfairly cut off from their children. The fact is that because of the system, they have little choice anyway as they have become an undertrodden subclass of Americans, part of a machine that destroys and humiliates. Fathers with divorced families receive no positive credit for what “they must do”, even when they do so with love and care.

obamas new dealEven worse, the multi-billion dollar divorce industry is heavily funded by custody battles and government itself. Arguments over division of assets are a significant part of lawsuits. Lawsuits are also driven by fathers that insist on the right to see their kids while mothers try to limit the role of the father. Declining incomes of both mothers and fathers makes decent legal remedies more remote since the system by nature feeds on any residual incomes, further hurting children in a negative atmosphere of temporary insanity. In this economy, a large cross-section of Americans don’t have the income to fight much of anything, let alone deal with the basics. Those are the facts and resulting blight of the American Dream: court politics sustained by a broken system of misguided politics and government exploitation.

A Message to Women: Women, Entitlement & Unhappiness

sick womanUnhappiness is growing like a festering sore in one segment of American society and the media is taking notice. (Surprise) Who is it? It’s women. According to study after study, women across the globe are becoming more and more unhappy. Considering all the gains and power that women have made over the last five decades, a vexing question comes to mind: What in the world is going on with women? One thing is certain, many of them are coming after their men, breaking up families and destroying lives. They are encouraged to do so.

The happiness of women is trending downward as studied in a report by the Wharton School in Pennsylvania. Women have secured greater opportunity, greater achievement, greater influence and control and more money. The decline in their collective state of mind seems to defy logic on all levels.

Since 1972, the U.S. General Social Survey has asked men and women what would seem to be a very simple question: “How happy are you, on a scale of 1 to 3?” The survey includes a representative sample of men and women of all ages, education levels, income levels, and marital status. 1,500 yearly were surveyed for a total of almost 50,000 individuals today. What is revealed?

The drop in happiness is expansive.  The unhappiness remains whether they have kids, how many kids they have, how much money they make, how healthy they are, what job they hold, whether they are married, single or divorced, how old they are, or what race they are. The truth is that women are so unhappy because they continue to focus exclusively on themselves. Women have been trained to think that they can and should have it all without apology. Women are being manipulated by those with an agenda under false pretense in a massive power grab.

Why are women important to media, advocacy and government? “It’s not about you stupid!” It’s all about power and influence and it isn’t yours. The problem is that you believe what you are being told and have decided that it is time that “you get yours”. You are being led down the garden path!

free lunchYou need to think beyond yourself. Chances are, you are just as abused by the world system as your man. So why are you taking everything out on him if he is an otherwise decent fellow? Instead of kicking your partner (partner in crime) in the teeth, rebel against the insanity of the system. Get a new life and get out of your trap, but take care of the ones you love or need to love instead of destroying everyone around you.  If you are in a relationship that works, you need to realize that government agenda and entitlement is not really on your side. There is no free lunch. You are being manipulated. You are being convinced that thinking only about yourself, your private parts or your money is the best thing for you on all levels.

Whatever the case, you need to stop feeling entitled and look closer at that “free lunch”. Anyone that offers you anything that destroys your family or beleaguers your kids will cost you dearly sooner or later. Remember… this is all about money and power. In the end, you will not have the power you think you do…and neither does government. When the people get tired of abuse, things happen. Look at history. Don’t assume that any institution will last forever because in the world of history, no agenda is truly forever.

The family will survive. Be a part of that. Wake up and change your life without destroying your family.

Human Rights and Child Support in the U.S.

The concept of child support was originally designed to be dynamic and flexible, going up and down as parental income changed. This is no longer the case. The Bradley Amendment has become an anathema to human rights propogated by the U.S. government, presented as responsible parenting and care for children. The reality is that the system promotes fear and the trampling down of human rights on multiple levels.

Child Support has become a national battleground for human rights that is being ignored in the United States. The United States cannot stand as a champion of human rights. In the case of the family and parents, non-custodial parents have become an oppressed and distressed object of  political disdain, designed for political support and convenience through the division of families, often augmented by controlling maternal sociopaths.

Non-custodial parents have become social targets of envy and jealousy. The social, financial envy and oppression of parents has become big business to government and business alike.  Coupled with the criminalization of poverty in the United States, oppressed and distressed parents that become unemployed or have life-changing events fall into a government-ordained economic and social trap as the wealthy of the nation look away or promote as a device for their own personal satisfaction. There is a grass-roots movement to change the oppression of human rights in America. Someone does care and has been taking action, whether you approve of their methods or not.

Is the Bradley Amendment Legal?

unconstitutionalbradleylawL. Taylor writes: “HOW in the world can this be legal? My husband was laid off and the AG’s office is taking HALF of his unemployment and when questioned, their answer is “we are the government, we can do whatever we want.” No wonder men are so bitter and don’t want to have anything to do with the ex or their child, the AG’s office is doing their level best to drive a MONEY wedge in between family. What a bunch of a**holes.”

Based on Constitutional Law and its succeeding Amendments, the Bradley Amendment is illegal on multiple grounds that this website discusses in detail. Based on what politicians have passed for law via legal precedence and legislative creativity, the Bradley Amendment in all its ramifications, legal or otherwise, is actively enforced law for better or worse. The fact is that the people have allowed government, whether it be the fault of feminists, socialists, fascists or renegade judges and lawmakers, to enact law that is not “in the best interest” of the American people. This is the reality that we live in today.

unconstitutional-law-bradley-amendmentWhat you choose to do  is up to you. Doing nothing will get exactly what you have today: more of the same. Americans have become apathetic and divided in purpose and cause. This is what special interests and opportunistic politics uses to the disadvantage and oppression of the people. Simply giving in without so much as a public wimper is a guarantee that nothing will change. You need to make a public statement and raise public awareness.

What will you do? Calling the miscreants a ‘bunch of  a**holes’ won’t get you where you need to go, but in a sense is a start. Look at this website and the information that is available and make your personal decision about what you will and won’t do based on what you face.  Undoubtedly, some of this depends on what you have to lose. Therein lies the main issue Americans have. Until it hurts enough, they will do nothing. You can make it easy for others, even government, to abuse and exploit you. You DO have a choice, even if those choices may be limited in the short term. Knowing or learning the truth is just the beginning. What will you stand for? Make your choice and live by it. Know that you are not alone. ~ E. Manning

The Election and the Family Rights Blight

Elected officials aren’t listening where family rights are concerned. Have you noticed?

little constructive family rights interest

little constructive family rights interest

For some time, beleaguered Americans have sought a measure of legal refuge through their federal and local representatives and largely are turned aside. Those lawmakers that are favorable to fair family law while caring about what has become an abusive system of law, do little beyond posting their constituents comments on their Congressional websites. Even worse, those lawmakers are few and far between, a minority among a majority that have their minds on enriching themselves and painting a rosy picture of life for their constituents to obtain reelection.

Where the federal Bradley Amendment, abusive family and child support laws and the family rights blight on America are concerned, no review or consideration of past policy exists. No electoral campaign has mentioned positively, much less championed the plight of an abused subclass of Americans that will only decline with a declining national economy. The topic has been entirely ignored despite the desire of Americans to bring the issue to the forefront in an effort to seek some resolution.

Several opportunities have availed themselves, like the event at Rick Warren’s Saddleback Church, and even religious leaders have failed to champion the needs and rights of the American family by entertaining the idea of decent law. Instead, some have contested gay rights in lieu of family issues.

The current political myopia is already evident where economic matters are concerned. Americans are embroiled in debate because the financial blight affects everyone. The political nearsightedness of lawmakers is no less startling regarding the Bradley Amendment, child support law and the systematic cooperative destruction of the American family.

Political leaders are interested chiefly in social engineering through tax law that invariably involves the Internal Revenue Service. That is the endstop and a huge means of control for government socialists that seek to force their hand. Now economic stimulus is divided through the same means. Tax law assumes that every American must be responsible for his or her own finances when the same government does everything that it can to deny that responsibility. What America has is a dichotomy that destroys the American family from both ends designed by either ignorant or malevolent politicians.

For decades Americans have been taught that if we play by the rules that we would reap significant rewards. We have been sold the fantasy of trickle-down economics as an excuse to promote Big Business and government control. Independence through personal business acumen in the small business world has been sold down the river in lieu of government monitoring and control through Big Business, payroll law and the IRS. The needs of the nuclear family, a family with a husband, wife and children, has evolved into little more than a political charade in the legal world.

There is still time to pull this country out of the political grist mill that has debilitated the American family, but time is running out. Even financial wealth has proved insufficient to keep families together under the pressure and selfishness of the nation at-large. The nation must remedy the oppression of the American family and the value that the family holds. Your voice is needed to make a difference. Contact your lawmaker and let your voice be heard. If you are ignored by an incumbent politician where your concerns are made known, vote them out of office now. Tell them that you will not hesitate to do so. Only by standing up for American civil rights guaranteed in the Constitution can this nation be reclaimed for Americans and real family life, free from legal blight and oppression. ~ E. Manning

Avoiding the Truth: Domestic Violence Abuse

by E. Manning, senior writer, family rights advocate and retired economist

Because of many mandatory state arrest laws, police officers are strongly encouraged to make arrests on domestic violence 911 calls, even though many of these “emergency” calls do not involve geniune violence of any kind. Further, because of the “primary aggressor doctrine,” police officers are strongly encouraged to arrest men rather than women.

The plight of the family also involves “no drop” prosecution policies, where prosecutors move forward with cases that contain so little evidence that the case would never be prosecuted if it were any other “crime.” In the words of Glenn Sacks, domestic violence has become a political crime and that “crime” is handled in a political manner by authorities in charge.

nuclear family anihilation

nuclear family annihilation

Glenn Sacks also makes the case that men often plea-bargain so-called “family violence” cases by accepting battering treatment programs because they need to get out of jail and because they cannot afford to fight the case legally. The inability to hire or afford an attorney to secure ordinary citizens rights is just one travesty of Bradley Federal Law and punitive actions against men in the name of law.

The law has made it easy for a man to lose all of his rights where his children are concerned with an angry wife holding all the cards. The motivations of the angry wife are rarely, if ever, questioned. The result is that millions of men every year unjustly lose rights to their own children.

The fact is that Democrats have personally penned many of these Federal policies with the idea of personal and political empowerment. However, all politicians have proved to be entirely weak-kneed when it comes to standing up for the correct idea of family rights. While Barack Obama has announced his views which stand alongside the Democratic platform, John McCain, like his predecessor George Bush, has avoided breaching the topic for any reason. Even Pastor Rick Warren missed the opportunity to bring up the importance of the family as an issue. As a result, the issue of real family rights has become the largest election non-issue in recent history.

Politics has proved interest in its own empowerment rather than a real interest in preserving the importance of the family, often referred to in archaic terms as the “nuclear family.” The archaic title seems fitting as politicians seem hellbent on “nuclear annihilation” of the single institution that still binds this country as a cohesive unit. ~ E.
